Don't Get Comfortable is a hypothetical jazz lecture series I created for my corporate publications course during my senior year of college. For the lectures, a created a series of postcards advertising the five lectures, each honoring a different musician. I took inspiration from old jazz album covers, focusing on color, abstract shapes, and strong typography and mixed that with a more modern aesthetic.
Commemorative Lecture Guide
In addition to the postcards, I also created a commemorative lecture guide that served as a history of jazz and each musician as well as information on the lecture series. Each musician was assigned a color pulled from post cards and throughout the book, each musician is represented by that color, providing a series of monotone sections.
