Composer's Statement To me, summer means a sense of serenity and reflection. Summer gives us a chance to enjoy some free time, nice weather, and allows the mind to expand and explore. The music for this video, to me, evokes a feeling of a calm meditation and peace of mind. The music is not meant to be anything fancy or elaborate, for it is certainly not, but it was written with this lovely time of the year in mind, with thoughts of relaxing in the soothing summer sun and reflecting on the world and life. —Andy Borghesani
Cinematographer's Statement When Andy first played me this piece, I immediately started seeing those old-fashioned home movies where the film jumped around and the color was just a bit off. I wanted to take the feeling of those old movies and translate that in a modern setting. To achieve this, I recorded footage of nature and attempted to film it in the style of those old videos which works well with the feel of the music. You’ll notice some clips were sped up and reversed which creates some tension when paired with the slow pace of the melody and symbolizes reflection over both the summer day and summers past. The images, when paired with the music, create a relaxing and pensive experience that both celebrates and honors everything associated with summer. —Jarrett Fuller
